II. Blue Book Writing
For many of you, your character has single-handedly inspired young girls of color into STEAM fields, epecially those of you who read about Wakanda, Shuri, or Ironheart. For this writing assignment in the blue book, write an interview with your author. You can chose any interviewer you want--- yourself now, yourself as a child, someone/something imaginary, someone you know---- and do at least 4 rounds. Start with basic questions and then work yourself into asking how/if this author anticipated the response of girls of color and a renewed interest in STEAM and what they think of this.
For those of you who read Tee Franklin, the love and attention that she is receiving now is amazing. Since Bingo Love is close to her own autobiography, it's also quite special. Tee Franklin has now singlehandedly brought attention to Black queer women in comics today. For this writing assignment in the blue book, write an interview with Tee. Be prepared to share your interview questions as well as your choice in interviewer with the class. These are also VISUAL TEXTS so please show us 1-2 panes, pages, or strips that visually moved you!

IV. Group Aloud Readings
- 1) Select your three "roles": a) one person needs to facilitate, keep the discussion flowin, and watch the time; b) one person needs to write out the collective statement; c) one person needs to read the statement to the whole class w/ some kind of swag puhllease...
- 2) Everyone should share their journal writings and thoughts on Cooper's essay.
- 3) Together, write a statement (prosaic or poetic) that defines: "BLACK GIRL (LITERACY) IS A VERB." Person B should write the statement and be prepared to submit it at the end of class (write it out or email/google-doc it to Carmen at carmen.kynard@tcu.edu)
