II. "Black Girl Is a Verb" (6:45-7:05)
- We'll start tonight with a well-cited webessay by Brittany Cooper at the Crunk Feminist Collective, "Black Girl Is a Verb." Then, Anna will present and we will end the evening by working in small groups. Your task in small groups will be to share ideas about this week's readings and then collectively.... write a statement called "BLACK GIRL LITERACY IS A VERB."

- You will need three "roles" tonight: a) one person needs to facilitate, keep the discussion flowin, and watch the time; b) one person needs to write out the collective statement; c) one person needs to read the statement to the whole class w/ some kind of swag puhllease...
- Everyone should share what they thought was the most important insight, data, or method from ONE of your articles
- Together, write a statement (prosaic or poetic) that defines: "BLACK GIRL LITERACY IS A VERB"
- One person should write the statement and be prepared to submit it at the end of class (write it out or email/google-doc it to Carmen at carmenkynard@gmail.com)
