  • We begin BANNED BOOKS today with Lori and Caylie.  Our next Banned Books session will be on October 23 with Grace, Hanna, and Tristan.
  • Please remember that you don't need to do an RR during your presentation week.  Your slides (canva or google slides) will also reboot on the website any time you revise, no matter which presentation version you email.
  • There is no class next week.  Please note that you have a writing assignment in lieu of class.

III. Next Week's Class Assignment: Teaching Statement for a Faculty Position (CLICK HERE FOR YOUR FOLDER where you will upload)
Your 10 points are as follows:
  1. Write 2-3 pages maximum (at least size 10 font, can be single-spaced) (2 points)
  2. Post your finished statement to the google folder by Monday, October 16 (2 points)
  3. Offer 5-6 sentences of commentary to at least 2 people's google docs in the folder by Sunday, October 22 (2 points)
  4. Offer 1 sentence of commentary to approximately 8 people's google docs in the folder by Sunday, October 22 (2 points)
  5. Address: How do decolonization, settler colonization, DEI, anti-ableism, and/or anti-racism shape your teaching philosophy? (2 points) 
​NOTE: We return to class on October 23 where you will have new reading assignments.

IV. Crip Theory, Crip Time, and Raced Time​
What connections can you make between disability, race, time, and what you read for today? What does this have to do with teaching?  How do you/will you approach time, accessibility, and anti-racism in your classrooms?
V. Read the webpage and then choose and/or mix the accessibility statement that best reflects what you have read/what you are thinking right now (think of undergrads as your audience here).  Take notes and make comments for the statement you will create.
